Nothing Lasts Forever

Updated: Sep 2, 2018

“Every situation in life is temporary. So, when life is good, make sure you enjoy and receive it fully. And when life is not so good, remember that it will not last forever and better days are on the way”. – Jenni Young

I sat down on the bench by the shore and looked up into the white fluffy clouds as it slowly flows with the blue sky. As the day went down, the colors in the sunset sky started to appear reddish pink as the day slowly fades. I can hear the waves, the sound of the leaves ripping off the branches, and the birds chirping and wings flapping away. That feel of the air, warm and fresh slightly blowing against my skin. Then there’s the wide, enormous endless ocean as it spread its arms so far away like to another side of the world I can’t see any further but just plain beauty. I can sit in this view for hours and just listen to the peace and quietness it gives. Sitting and staring away in this scenery, I feel like there is so much life and light in that view.

Sometimes it makes me happy, sometimes it makes me feel depressed. Sometimes it makes me feel nostalgic, and most of the time it’s the best kind of place I can listen to myself. I started to think about what happens to us after this life. What happens when we get old, what happens to our body, and where do we go from there….

It wasn’t not too long ago when my friend passed away. It made me think all sorts of things in life. I thought really deep, turned my head left and right, trying to see where this was all coming from. And, for a while I knew I felt some changes. Changes in some things that I can see more clear and some truths.

His passing has inspired me to open up and made me see more of life that I have never seen before. It has taught me to connect with myself and the universe. It has given me the strength to fulfil my life as much as I can because life is truly a gift. My spiritual growth and my perspective of life has gained more in depth than it did before. And especially because he passed away at such a young age, it made me understand that there is more to accomplish than what you see in front of you. Being young is like take chances and run with the wind. Make every little moment count, and especially take care of yourself. Health is very important. Instead of trying to avoid and ignore the stress from our body, we need to listen to what our body is telling us. Be active and feed our mind and heart with positive energy and surrounding ourselves with things and people that make us happy and whole.

Some people we meet for a short period of time can leave marks in our hearts to find pureness around ourselves and the world. I think that everyone we meet in our life is meant to be. They come in forms of lessons and paths to teach us things we would never know if certain things didn’t happen the way it did. When someone dies, we will always be reminded of how much life is truly a blessing and how precious it is. Hardships are the opportunities for our growth.

Even though I have found some meaningful things in life, it’s definitely not a good feeling to loose someone, but I am thankful and truly blessed to have known him in this life time to show me a side of life and I think we crossed paths was because of God’s ways.

At the end of the day, we only have ourselves to fill in those blank spaces that needs to be filled in our lives. Feed and please your soul. Your one, beating heart can only last for how long. Do wonderful and meaningful things for yourself, your loved ones, your experiences, and anything that makes you feel alive. Life is filled with surprises and full of mysteries. God’s plan and his time is not ours. It is life and everything happens for a reason, an experience, a lesson, and we just have to pick up and move on. Life is short, live life passionately and embrace the beauty of it as the time being because Nothing Lasts Forever.
